Free Tax Help at Baruch College
Baruch Accounting Students Will Prepare Your Taxes--Free

Baruch College Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

It's tax time again, and more than 450 Baruch College students are ready to prepare taxes, free of charge, for New Yorkers who need assistance with their IRS filings. Now in its 17th year, the Baruch tax program has helped thousands of New Yorkers, many of them elderly or immigrants with limited English language skills, complete the filing process painlessly.

Working through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA), the students have all been trained and certified by the IRS. They are headquartered in Baruch College's Library and Technology Building at 151 E. 25th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues, First Floor lobby and will be there to provide tax help through the New York State filing deadline of Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Clients who have questions about forms, documents, or filing procedures should email BaruchVITA.Service@gmail.com.

In addition to the Baruch locations, students are staffing three other sites: Chinatown, the Lower East Side, Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and Flushing, Queens. Services at all four locations are provided on a walk-in, first-come, first-serve basis.

For more information, please visit http://www.baruchvita.org.
