20% advertising discount to all members of the 23rd Street AssociationWe are delighted to announce that Community Media, LLC, the publisher of The Villager, Downtown Express, Gay City News, and its newest weekly publication, ChelseaNOW, has agreed to provide a 20% advertising discount to all members of the 23rd Street Association. To acquaint Association members with ChelseaNOW, Community Media has agreed to send all members a free mailed copy for eight weeks.
We know well the quality of The Villager, and we are confident that ChelseaNOW will bring to Chelsea the type of lively, independent, and authoritative weekly reporting that The Villager brings to the Greenwich Village community. Chelsea Now will be distributed free in Chelsea through news boxes and racks, apartment buildings, banks, stores, and restaurants. It will be a free, highly visible publication that covers the dynamic changes taking place in Chelsea. It will be edited and produced by the same (but expanded!) Community Media staff that has won over 140 editorial awards for excellence in the last ten years, including the top prize for The Villager (Best Weekly Newspaper in New York State) in three of the last five years.
Community Media has also agreed to make this discount available to Association members advertising in Gay City News, the city’s preeminent weekly covering New York’s gay and lesbian community. Given the strength and density of that community in the Chelsea area, Gay City News would be a strong vehicle for members interested in marketing their businesses and services to the gay community.
